Privacy Policy – Trip Split

Trip Split ("we," "our," or "us") is developed and operated by an individual developer based in Hong Kong. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the app:

• Analytics Data – We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to understand how users interact with the app. This includes anonymized usage data such as screen views, button taps, session duration, device type, operating system version, and approximate geographic region.
• Crash and Performance Data – We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and performance data when the app crashes or becomes unresponsive. This may include technical details about the device and the state of the app at the time of the crash.
• Advertising Identifier – We display advertisements using Google AdMob. AdMob may use the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) and limited anonymized data to serve personalized ads.
• In-App Purchase Data – Purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. We only receive anonymized purchase receipts and do not have access to your payment details.

We do not collect or store your name, email address, precise location, contacts, photos, or any other personally identifiable information.

• To operate, maintain, and improve Trip Split
• To understand how the app is used and fix bugs
• To display advertisements and measure their effectiveness

5. Data Retention

Analytics and crash data is retained according to the default retention policies of Firebase (typically up to 14 months). Advertising identifiers can be reset or limited by the user at any time in device settings.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• You can opt out of personalized advertising in the app settings or in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Advertising → Limit Ad Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization).
• You can request deletion of analytics data via Firebase (we will honor such requests where technically feasible).

7. Children

Trip Split is not intended for children under 13 (United States) or under 16 (European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the effective date.
